Allen to serve as next associate dean for medical student affairs

Sheryl Allen, M.D., associate professor of clinical emergency medicine and clinical pediatrics, will serve as the next associate dean for medical student affairs.
In this position, Dr. Allen will serve as the senior administrative leader for the Office of Medical Student Affairs and oversee comprehensive services and programming to support the development and academic success of medical students at each of the school’s nine campuses.
Dr. Allen will begin her transition to this role in July. She will assume full responsibility for the position in August.
Rakesh Mehta, M.D., associate professor of clinical medicine, will continue to serve as the associate dean for medical student affairs during the month of July. He will return full-time to his work in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology, in August.
