Indiana Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Fund Grant Program applications due May 6

The state of Indiana is seeking applications for the 2013 Indiana Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Fund Grant Program. This program aims to foster and encourage research for the prevention, treatment and cure of spinal cord and brain injuries, including acute management, medical complications, rehabilitative techniques, and neuronal recovery.

The maximum possible grant award is $120,000 ($60,000 per year for up to two years).

Eligible principal investigators must be based in Indiana and have the education, skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research. Please refer to the competition guidelines for further details on eligibility.

Awards pursuant to this RFP are contingent upon the availability of funds and the receipt of a sufficient number of meritorious applications as determined by an independent scientific advisory panel, the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Board, and/or the Indiana State Department of Health.

Applications are due at 5 p.m. Monday, May 6. The grant start date will be no later than Aug. 1.

Awards are contingent upon the availability of funds and the receipt of a sufficient number of meritorious applications as determined by an independent scientific advisory panel, the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Board and the Indiana State Department of Health.

Applicants must be affiliated with an Indiana-based research institution or organization, but national and international collaborations are encouraged. This grant is administered for the state of Indiana by the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute.
