The application deadline for the following IUSM internal grant programs is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Biomedical Research Grant
The Biomedical Research Grant Program is designed to foster scholarly and creative research by worthy investigators so that they can compete successfully for extramural research support.
This program aims to benefit research projects conducted by faculty in two catagories:
- Investigators new to IU School of Medicine who do not yet have extramural funding and who need support to acquire the preliminary data necessary to compete for extramural funding;
- Established investigators of the IU School of Medicine who are between funding periods from extramural sources.
Funding requests submitted through this program should not exceed $40,000 and or one year in duration.
All full-time faculty, regardless of tenure status, having an appointment of assistant professor or assistant scientist and above, are eligible to apply for a Biomedical Research Grant. The applicant’s primary appointment must be in the IU School of Medicine.
This eligibility includes those faculty appointed as part-time assistant professor or above. Faculty in visiting ranks are not eligible for funding through this mechanism.
Research Enhancement Grant
The Research Enhancement Grant Program is designed to stimulate research productivity at the the IU School of Medicine's eight regional medical education centers. The program aims to foster scholarly and creative research by worthy investigators so that they can compete successfully for extramural research support.
This program is funded by the IU School of Medicine with matching funds contributed by each of the regional medical education centers. It is anticipated that two to five grants will be awarded each round for a one year duration for a maximum award of $40,000.
All full-time IU School of Medicine-Bloomington faculty, regardless of tenure status, having an appointment of assistant professor or Assistant Scientist and above at time of submission, are eligible to apply for a Research Enhancement Grant.
Primary appointment must be in the IU School of Medicine. Faculty in visiting ranks are not eligible for funding through this mechanism.
