InScope fall break
InScope, the official internal newsletter for faculty, staff, residents, postdocs and students at the IU School of Medicine, will not published Thursday, Oct. 17, because of fall break.
InScope will resume its regular delivery schedule to inboxes across the nine campuses of the IU School of Medicine on Oct. 24. Additional publication dates this semester are Oct. 31; Nov. 7, 14 and 21; and Dec. 5, 12 and 19.
There will be no issue on Nov. 28, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 because of the holidays.
The submission deadline for InScope is 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays.

MESH Wilderness First Aid Course
MESH is hosting a Wilderness First Aid Course on Oct. 26 and 27. The course is free to IU Health employees.
The course is designed to prepare people for the unexpected. Wilderness medicine is defined as anytime you are more than two hours from definitive care.
The course, which is fast-paced, hands-on training, is designed to meet the needs of any outdoor enthusiast. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios that will be both mentally and sometimes physically challenging.
Outdoor enthusiasts who bring years of emergency medical experience to the classroom teach this course. The course encompasses both classroom and outdoor skill sessions. The skills sessions will be held regardless of temperature or weather.
Registration is available online.
