Networking event to address physician gender wage gap

Mar. 20, 2014

The IU National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health will host “Negotiating the Divide: The Unexplained Trend of Men Earning More Than Women” from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, in Fairbanks Hall, Room 1110-1112.

This is a networking event for all female physicians and scientists, residents, post-doctorial researchers and fellows. The keynote speaker will be Robin Ledyard, M.D., former president of Community Hospital East and a physician executive in the field of coding and documentation.

In addition, Lori A. Ball, MBA, will lead a panel discussion. Ball plays a strategic role in the overall management and growth of Indianapolis-based BioStorage Technologies, Inc., a comprehensive sample management solutions company for the bioscience industry.

This event is scheduled on Equal Pay Day, which symbolizes how far into 2014 women must work to earn what men earned in 2013.

The event is free and sponsored by the IU National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health, IUSM Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development, American Medical Women’s Association, and Indiana State Medical Association.

To register, visit the center website or contact 317-948-2264 or email iucoe@iupui.edu.
