IU Office of Research Compliance newsletter to provide updates on Kuali Coeus IRB implementation process
May 2, 2013
The IU Office of Research Compliance has launched a newsletter to keep faculty and staff engaged in research up to date about the upcoming implementation of a web-based system for the submission, processing, and review of human subjects research studies.

Kuali Coeus IRB is a web-based system for the submission, processing, and review of human subjects research studies.
Kuali Coeus IRB will be an addition to the Kuali Coeus system, an electronic research administration system currently serving the needs of researchers and staff at IU in areas associated with proposal submission and award management.
With the addition of the KC IRB module the electronic submission, processing, and review of Internal Review Board protocols will be possible thus enhancing efficiency for researchers, reviewers and the Human Research Protection Program staff. In addition, KC IRB will permit researchers and staff to link IRB submissions to other modules such as KC proposal development and award.
Implementation will take place over the course of six phases starting this summer and extending beyond Summer 2014.
A number of town hall sessions about the implementation process is scheduled in May. Indianapolis-based sessions will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, May 8, and Wednesday, May 15, at the VanNuys Medical Science Building, Room B14, and 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 30, in the John Daly Student Center, Room 185.
A complete list of town hall dates, including several sessions at IU Bloomington, is online at http://researchadmin.iu.edu/Systems/KC/Training/kctrain_comp.html.
