Wells Center for Pediatric Research seeks summer internship applications

The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research is seeking student applications for its 2014 Summer Internship Program.
The Wells Center's mission is to increase knowledge of the causes and mechanisms of serious pediatric diseases; to develop innovative approaches to diagnosis and treatment of childhood diseases; and to provide an outstanding training environment for medical and graduate students, residents and fellows.
Students selected for the summer program will paired with a Wells Center faculty member and assigned to work in a Wells Center laboratory.
Selected students are also encouraged to attend weekly seminars and research-related center meetings each week, as well as other academic events that involve the Wells Center faculty. These may include combined seminar series, seminars of faculty candidates, weekly basic science research forums and the pediatric faculty research seminar series.
Students are expected to participate in research for at least 40 hours per week. All applications must be at least 18 years old. This is an unpaid internship position.
In addition, Wells Center interns are required to make a presentation at the conclusion of the program.
